We will be participating in an International Blog competition.  You can read all about it here.

Essentially, we will be completing weekly projects aimed at making you better bloggers and writers. There will be 10 weeks worth of projects where you will learn the basics of blogging and commenting on other posts. Blogging is a form of communication that relies on commenting on what others have written. You will have the opportunity to communicate with students in other countires, some of whom do not speak english!

Here is your first project. You are to write about yourself in the About Me section of your blog. Rememebr the rules about giving out personal information. There are some good links on the project page to refresh your memory. Then write a post that incorporates the answers to the questions Ms. Wyatt poses in points 3 and 4 on the Week 1 project page.

Thank you very much for joining our student blogging competition. Hopefully each school will give a small award to the best or most improved blogger over the ten week period.

It is up to the teacher(s) to check how the students improve. I have suggested students keep a commenting word document or something similar to show how their commenting has improved. This doesn’t mean they have to keep a record of every comment, but those that show an improvement.

If students want to register their own personal blog rather than working as part of thiss class blog, they will need to register at http://wyatt67.edublogs.org/2008/08/01/blogging-competition-for-students/

I have added you as Class6 – USA on my blogroll. This is where students need to come to visit blogs from other students around the world.
